Thought I’d share a couple of video clips from some notables in the WNBA since we’re about four months from the opening of training camp. First up is president Laurel Richie, who allowed Madame Noire to spend a day with her at the league’s New York office.
Most fans have heard Richie’s story before, but what she hoped for her WNBA legacy was interesting. “This is a league that was doing well before she (Richie) came and sort of took off once she joined,” Richie said of what she hopes is her imprint.
Next we have two music videos from Atlanta All-Star Angel McCoughtry, who’s stepping into the musical field while playing in Turkey. She’s released two singles with videos shown below.
I’m no music critic, but I do find it interesting the Dream games versus the Storm (where Atlanta lost) are used a lot in the game highlights. And the songs available on iTunes have to make Atlanta the most musically talented team in the league, considering assistant coach Fred Williams released a complete jazz CD last year. The muse was the team’s 2010 Eastern Conference champion run.
Lastly, here’s Washington coach/GM Trudi Lacey talking about the upcoming season.
