Washington plays San Diego next in WNIT

Huskies2.jpgWashington coach Kevin McGuff can chuck that Texas Tech scout, the Red Raiders lost 60-51 to San Diego in its Women’s National Invitation Tournament third-round game on Thursday. The Huskies (20-13) will host the Toreros (25-8) on Sunday at noon in the WNIT quarterfinals at Edmundson Pavilion.
Senior F Morgan Woodrow led USD against the Red Raiders, scoring 17 points with nine rebounds and three steals in the game. The Toreros are 10-4 this season on the road while the Huskies are 13-5 at home, including two wins in the WNIT.
The winner of Sunday’s game will face the Oklahoma State-Colorado winner, which is being played Sunday in Stillwater, Okla. Dates and times for the WNIT semifinal will be determined later.
Fans can purchase tickets for Sunday’s UW game by calling the Husky Ticket Office at (206) 543-2200 or by going online at gohuskies.com. Reserved seats (rows 1-20) are $13 while general admission (rows 21 and above) are $6 for adults, $4 for youth/senior/UW students (with ID) and $4 apiece for groups of 15 or more.
