Storm centers Ann Wauters and Ewelina Kobryn injured

SeattleStorm.pngThe Storm returned from a successful 2-1 road trip with a pair of injuries to its post rotation. Reserve C Ewelina Kobryn missed practice on Tuesday due to a strained right hamstring. She was able to ride a stationary bike, according to a team spokeswoman.
C Ann Wauters missed Sunday’s win in Connecticut and practice due to a strained left Achilles. She said the injury was evaluated by doctors and there is a small tear, which could keep her out of the lineup for Saturday’s game at Los Angeles.
“It’s nothing too big, it’s a little tear,” Wauters said after practice. “It happened during the New York game toward the end. I kind of felt when I jumped that I must have stretched it a little bit. What the doctors have told me is (playing Saturday) is really going to depend on how I’m going to feel. It all depends on how fast it heals.”
Wauters, a 6 foot 4 post, is averaging 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. The Storm (7-8) has won six of its past seven games, but is 0-3 against the Sparks (10-6) this season. The final of the five-game series is after the Olympic break.
Joining Wauters on the sideline was Kobryn, also a 6-4 post. She tweaked her hamstring on Sunday and is day-to-day. She’s averaging 5 points off the bench, scoring a career-high 13 against the Sun.
“We’ll know more on Thursday,” Agler said of the injuries.
