Poll: Which team has a better chance of making it to the NCAA tournament

Here’s a fun one. I believe it’s the only time a woman’s sport in Seattle is the overwhelming favorite in our unscientific polls. Vote below.

Be sure to also read our latest journal entry on Washington post Katie Collier, who’s working her way back from a season-ending knee injury.

In other news, UW signee Kelsey Plum, a PG at La Jolla Country Day HS in La Jolla, Calif., was selected to play in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 22nd annual High School All-America Game. The matchup is set for April 6 at 2:30pm (PST) at the New Orleans Arena, site for the 2013 NCAA Final Four. Featuring 20 players split into two teams, the game will be played on the same court.

No. 4 Stanford is the only other Pac-12 team with recruits also named WBCA All-Americans in F Erica McCall of Bakersfield’s Ridgeview HS and F Karlie Samuelson of Fullerton’s Mater Dei HS. McCall is the younger sister of Phoenix Mercury F DeWanna Bonner.

Plum is Washington coach Kevin McGuff’s second All-American recruit, and second overall in program history. Collier was named a McDonald’s All-American last year. Its 2013 announcement will be made Feb. 14 at 5pm (PST) on ESPNU. Plum and fellow UW signee, post Chantel Osahor of St. Mary’s HS in Phoenix, are McDonald’s All-American nominees.
