TV Alert: Pac-12 Conference reintroduces itself on the national stage

TourneyLogoNo hard feelings. It’s hard to boast about something most can’t see. So, the West Coast’s finest women’s hoops tourney, to steal a phrase from Seattle Times columnist Jerry Brewer, is making a reintroduction. All of its games will be aired nationally, unless you have DirecTV,  via its new Pac-12 Networks channel and ESPN2′s coverage of its championship game on Sunday at KeyArena. The site of the Seattle Storm, KeyArena will host its first Pac-12 women’s basketball tourney after the event suffered for four years at Staples Center in the shadow of everything else Los Angeles.

To get you going, check out Brewer’s look at Seattle becoming a big-events city, again. I wrote about possible future WNBA players and fifth-seeded Washington’s outlook in the tournament. Seattle-based Associated Press reporter Tim Booth has the nitty-gritty about the conference and its determination to grab national attention, featuring four teams ranked in top-25 polls in No. 4 Stanford, No. 5 California, No. 14 UCLA and No. 18 Colorado. I also have some fun tourney tidbits to give you a little insight to the event then and now.

Here’s a link to the Pac-12′s official tournament site. Below is your TV lineup. I’m out to focus on daily stories. There won’t be any blog updates this week because this time, you can see for yourself and read about it in The Seattle Times. Enjoy.
